Elephants
Eons of majesty, nobility, pride
Lore of wisdom, insight, statues idolize
Empathetic and kind, they shield and abide
Perseverance through vanishing lands, through hunter's knives
Hallowed grave sites, they are buried, they mourn
Alpha supreme in Ganesha deities
Nepal's yesteryears upon their backs are borne
Transcendent, eternal through centuries
Spiritual succession, enlightenment endangered.
