Electrical Dawn

Seems like we can't
get over it
       Our lives have become
reflections
          of the electrical dawn
       Don't ask too many
questions
       The answers may drive
you mad
      The sparks we have
          seen
suggest the power we
     have become subservient
to
    In a dark room
     a bulb
is lit
Eyes strain to read
printed matter
In the distance
the sound of a radio
Electrical Dawn
Something we must
face if we are
   To continue on
  As we have in
the past
The sharp ring of the
alarm clock
makes us rise
from sleep
   As dawn arrives
the current that
   powers the juggernaut
is what we must now
deal with
In the early morning
     you can hear
soft voices
    singing
Our only hope is
to escape
Later.... deep within
and without
    those voices suggest
other possibilities
    We must seize
upon
    If we wish
to continue onwards
   as living beings
on this blue orb
