Elder Cobwebs and Dust

I’ve often heard it said

elders have empty heads

where cobwebs

encrust each corner

and memories sit

gathering dust

But….

If you take the time

to sit and listen well

those crusted corners

with memory jewels

will glean for you

wisdom’s lust

Thank you Debra for rescuing us seniors in such a kind way. I hope my cobwebs don't dim what wisdom I might have. A rescue package I can relate to! :)

Once again, kindness calls my name. Reminding me we're all the same. Poor souls with such empty hearts. Waiting just to play our parts. The years go by in the blink of an eye. When we get so old and start to ask why. When sweet youth comes to share our day. It restores the soul to find it's way.

Hello in there is how John Prine said it. It makes me cry to hear that song. How some poor souls just want to belong. And when the world just goes right by. Without even one person saying hi. It's not a wonder they might wanna die. When all that's left is just to sigh.
