Ekphrasis On, the Spinners , Las Hilanderas, Artist, Diego Velazquez

Ekphrasis on, The Spinners
(Las Hilanderas) artist, Diego Velazquez

colors, fabric missing painter's glaze

     spun within moonbeam's glow

threads entangled in beautiful gaze

majestic, with heart-sought truth in tow

by mortal flesh and heart-sights thus sewn

     born- sky, water and land

expressions, vanity's undertones

imagination, from spinning hands

from earth, cascading heavenly clouds

     windows - life's wondrous stage

Turin, mystery and famous shroud

digital world, techno all the rage

wondrous explosion, breathtaking scenes

    hope, mankind's fleeing race

dark's blight, Gods births, depths obscene

humanity searching - divine grace

spirals of color, artistic flair

     three spinners- flowing skies

imagination, beyond compare

artists, weavers and spirited eyes.

Thank you my friend. The poem was primarily imagery driven. And based upon the truly magnificent famous painting that was cited. I am so glad that four poets have seen, read and thought to comment ion this creation. Poetic integrity counts for everything with me. So does, not playing games in regards to that principle.. God bless..

Truth is, Velazquez has a great many other famous paintings using to magnificent effect color/ imagery and his great genius as an artist. Paintings that can easily stir the poet to deeper imagery and colors in verse.. God bless..

Thank you my friend. When inspiration comes, sometimes it gifts a greater insight and a smoother more eloquent pen. All the best verses came from my muse, imho. Your very fine poem and the painting gave the greater inspiration for a new piece, my muse chimed in and the result is the poem as presented. God bless...
