Notes About The Poem

Fictional write for the contest theme.

Eight Lines of Fate -Fate Doesn'T Exist

My mind is tormented each second and minute and hour of the day
By shattered dreams that never came, my life is plagued by sadness
I often think of what could or should have been on most days
The cards that I have been dealt in this so called life were so terrible

If this is fate then I don't believe in it and It doesn't exist at all
I long for my days to be numbered really really fast
In the midst of my soul is a profound darkness and emptiness
Sometimes there's a vague notion of will I get a better hand?

Congratulations on your win. A sad and depressing poem about fate. Reminded me of 'accepting the hand you're dealt' which we all do so that we can build from there. Thought-provoking.

gosh, if this is true for you, I am sorry, Alexis. It does seem that some people have more tribulations than others. My husband is one of them, and so I live those tribulations through him and a few of my own. I really like this.

A most provocative write questioning whether one's life is preordained or whether one has any control on how things play out! Certainly you have penned a deep philosophical piece here, my friend! Well done, Alexis. This should do well in SO's contest! Hugs and best wishes. Pandita

I hope you are dealt 4 aces. Mind you I have witnessed people win with poor hands and they come out on top. Thanks for your visit.

God will never create an empty soul with no purpose and not a goal dearest Alexis! Very convincing writing! I know you do not mean it! Now the question about the better hand is concerned! Well, you have to learn the game first! haha! Excellent writing for the purpose it was written dear, Alexis!

I'm glad it is a fictional write. You had me wandering in sad places. You depicted a state of mind when nothing feels worthwhile facing darkness and emptiness as you say..Fate will do that sometimes! Great piece for the contest..best of luck for a win, Alexis.

Sad write, Alexis! People need to realize you can get dealt a rough hand but you don't have to keep it. You can ask the dealer for new cards. You can work hard and go buy a new deck. There is always a way if there is always a will to want more and be more!
