Eichelhäher/ Jay/ Arrendajo

Ein Eichelhäher
Im Flug, Futter im Schnabel
Zum Versteck im Baum

Sein Gefieder im Abendlicht
Wie kostbare Juwelen

---------------------------------

A beautiful jay
In flight with feed in his beak
To a hiding place

Plumage in evening light
Like precious jewels

---------------------------------

Un arrendajo
En vuelo con alimento
Refugio al árbol

Sus plumas en luz de tarde
Como joyas preciosas

Just gorgeous, Gert. Thanks for posting a new one for us today. As for you being old fashioned with videotapes, well guess what? welcome to the club. I own three VCRs which I use to tape shows off DRV becuase I can't keep my DVR cleared up of all the shows I collect! I sure hope my vcr's stay in working order; otherwise, I've got no idea how I'll ever watch the many movies I've accumulated from my cable service! I can't even work a DVD player!!!

The jays gleam like sapphires or blue topaz stones -- so vibrant. You describe them well, my friend. Your tanka sounds beautiful in all three languages! Love, Carolyn
