Eggshells

My feet crush the eggshells Scattered all over the floor, A mistake I always seem to make As soon as I come in the door. Panic rises in my chest As I hear the screaming begin, Here she comes ready to fight I don’t want to do this again. I stand there and watch her Become someone else, The mom I know is nowhere to be found And I don’t know how to help.
