Why are some so quick to judge
Before they know all you've been thru?
They'd rather give a nasty nudge
Than take a stab at grasping you
And following assumptions, trudge
Upon the shining things you do.
There are so few who understand
That ALL of us are tending strife
And all that we had wished or planned
Is at the mercy of our "REAL" life
(I hope from that high place they stand
They don't fall down on their own knife).
* FOURTH PLACE in the "Judgemental People and Haters" Poetry Contest, Brenda Chiri, Sponsor, and in honor of my good friend Robert Lindley. *
