Echoes of You

I reach for you in the quiet,
but your shadow slips through my fingers.
Every memory hum in my veins,
a song I can’t turn off,
a warmth I can’t touch.

I trace the spaces where you used to be,
your laugh, your gaze, your hand in mine,
and all of it lingers like smoke
in the corners of my heart.

Even when I close my eyes,
your face refuses to fade,
and every sigh I release
carries a piece of you I’ll never hold.

The nights stretch endlessly,
and I’m suspended between what was
and what I can never have again.
