Echoes of the Silent Shore

Level sands stretched beyond the range of vision
Sluggish blue waters touching the grey seaboard
Waves crashing on rocks with a lingering sound
The surging waves erasing footprints like wipers
Pyramidal red cedars diffusing camphor aroma
The mangroves standing on stilts along the shore
Velvet seals and cute penguins go on roaming
Flocks of seagulls swooping down to catch shellfish
Hustle and bustle all over due to fishing jargon
The salt air carries the whispers of sweethearts
The shells of clams lying half sunk in the sand
The sunlight makes them aglow as day stars
Bizarre and rare sights of the doomsday fish
As a harbinger of impending natural disasters
It’s a womb for unnumbered water creatures
Including the mythical Leviathan beneath the layers
The infinite water body stands as an epitome
For an indomitable spirit and immortality
For centuries, with no pauses but renewed energy
The profound tranquillity sprawling all over
In that twilight, when my hands wrapped around you
I felt the echoes of your throbbing heartbeats.
The susurration and all polyphonies became infrasonic
Except the pounding heartbeats that echo forever in my heart.
