Echoes of the Past

I hear echoes of the past,
Voices, and laughter of
the people that were close to me,
I remember them for who they were,
What they stood for and more,

It saddens my heart in many ways,
To see their photos on the wall,
To remember that time,
When we had all the moments to share,

To only think, time wouldn't change,
It seemed to be frozen,
 only for a little while,

It was all good in many ways,
to have had that in my life,
I didn't think about age and time,
How it moves on, things change,
People, our loved ones get older and pass on,

Leaving their families behind,
To walk this earth, as once they did,
It's hard to let go, but to only know,
I will see them again, is only a matter of time,

To walk the same grounds as once our loved ones did, to be here, and to become once was,
will be echoes of the past.
