Notes About The Poem

Echoes

Out on the porch in morn's coolness
Echoes of a symphony sing
Doves a hollow wind slowly blown
Mockingbirds a tambourine

Song bird voices violin strings
Gently struck with a bow
As a soft illuminating
Yellow sun rises so slow

Stillness hovers; only faint air
movement, will the coolness go
Will this day be a scorcher
with hot humid hours and no air flow?

Wispy clouds fan brushed near the sun
A touch of promised rain
If only there would be showers
to dissipate heat's pain!!

This one was a long time ago, Howard. Out on the porch was a big inspiration for me and would still be if I could go out once in a while. Your visits are uplifting. Sara K.

We need the showers here too, this was a well said soothing look into your morning. I felt like I was on a porch swing taking it all in. :)
