Play with pleasure,
Opt for the best;
Ink sure measure,
Glimpse treasured zest;
Now and again,
Align pure heart;
Niche cheery strains,
Taste bounty's start.
Expect great sights,
Charm leads the way;
Heed profound light,
Observe fine sway;
Each on a trip,
Sense pulse that skips.

I feel the need to explain why I consider this as a sonnet -- in fact, a mini-sonnet of sorts. It's been 400 years since Mr Shakespeare borrowed this form from the Italian verse form and regularized the iambic pentameter. To capture the essence with lesser syllables, I've tweaked the 10 syllables down to four which suits my purposes. Calling it a sonnet is just for convenience. That's my take on this old verse form. I think the spirit of the write is what really matters. Hope this helps. Thanks for the support. Leon
