Echo in the Void

Echo in the void

Silence reigns in a vast expanse
All in vain a lone voice of chance
Echoes rippling like water in space
No one there to hear the true voice

Words fall on deaf ears in the breeze
Lost in the void like silent trees
A plea born from sheer desperation
Blown away like dust before creation

Each syllable floating on the air
Trying to reach ears not there
The void sucks life from each word
Leaving no trace of uttered word

Desolate the voice stands, unheard!
In a world where untruth is preferred
Even in the void's strangling hold
The power of words cannot be controlled

The voice speaks though none may hear
A testament in their echo so clear
In the silence of the void is a choice
To give wings of courage to the voice
