Ebony Embers of Wallowing Ash

    "Ebony Embers of Wallowing Ash"

flames of fire fuel black smoke
walls tumble to ground like dark cloak
Egypt burns in savage rebellion
as human life perishes in ashen soak.

tears of sadness pray ... ask Why?
happy existence ceases, to die,
Libya riots in chaotic state
peace perishes in immortal sigh.

each night erupts in tragedy
the black hole deepens in catastrophe
Yemen yells a chant of war and death
blood surges from guns and gadgetry.

pain and suffering appease fierce foe
disgracing flag of freedom flow
Tunisia embraces in solidarity
blackhearts dominate love's glow.

democracy is erased from view
with countries rationale' askew
familiarity breeds contempt for good
impending doom eradicates coup.

religious rites obscure clear vision
a ploy to wage war with precision
root core remains a mystery
ebony embers wallow, who holds the right decision?

Very thought provoking poem, very well done. I found the line about "root core remains a mystery" quite interesting, the root core probably is not such a mystery, if you have ever visited the middle east. Most of the above countries are so repressed, its no wonder they fight. Its quite scary. congrats on your well deserved win. Lee

this has to be your finest poem for a while, Sweetheart. in as much it carries a dark and truthful message of woe: as usual this is a wow factor poem, and also as usual a honour to read...........

Great, deep, heart touching and a stunning write on a burning subject, which definitely needs to be cooled as early as possible or else it's flame may go more higher and higher .. . and it may touch even the sky. You have created a brilliant piece of Rubaiyat my friend. My good wishes for your contest entry and my prayers for peace in Middle East for the good of all. May God bless peace of mind in the burning hearts. Hope you have tried those medicines? Love and best wishes...Ravindra...SHLMB
