Eating Emotions
If I open my emotions up, just a little bit,
Just a small little crack in its door,
I’m afraid each emotion I have ever had,
Will flood the entire floor,
And it will keep on pouring, out from my mind,
A deluge that will never slow,
An avalanche of all that I’ve ever felt,
Of all I’ve ever hidden from show,
That’s why I think it’s safer to hide in here,
Behind this wall of ache,
And never open up to deal with real,
Just living a life of fake,
And walk with a smile, a twinkling eye,
Where I’ve believed the words I’ve said,
In this emotional concrete box,
Where I can stay emotionally dead.
