Eat Your Cake

Eat Your Cake

One time and many
the past you speak of
was my present
it was the icing on my cake
The yellow marzipan
my dreams
my pleasures
under that substantial
crust of sweetness
Now
its remains
sit in an old tin
forgotten
waiting to feed
the birds in my garden.
