Easy Mark

She knew they
were easy marks midst
her beguiling cunning
had it in spades,
they thought they had
the better hand,
stacked the deck in their wager,
til she bet them all
under the round table
with token trick
aces up her skirt,
they didn't realize
she had already gambled
her jacked-up savings,
this was merely a player's
penalty game of suits,
she'd never get beaten
nor shuffled again,
pocketed kill in dealer's turn of a card,
outmaneuvered the joker's clubs
broke the bank's seven-card studs
trumped the king,
walked away the Queen
 decked out in diamonds

You have a very unusual style of writing and combining thoughts. May I thank you kindly for reading and commenting on my trump series?

Cool poem, Paloma. The poker metaphor is classic, very creative. Greedy chumps always get played. That's just how it is. Like your style on this poem. Take no prisoners, easy marks getting turned out empty handed. Serves 'em right. A 7 up poem for sure. Love and peace to you, dear.

She has it all, stashed away, ready to deal when needed. Much loved this one :)

At least 3 As, I'd say. Sheep are creatures of cunning deceit and surpassing illusion. They have lulled us into a false sense of security. They watch, they wait. They know much, and guess more. They bide their time, they grow in power. One day they shall mount their attack!
