Easter Sonnet
Yellow and purple crocus clumps now easy to find,
Tulip and daffodil bunches not far behind.
Before my front fence
Their greenery is getting dense.
Today I plant some bulbs I forgot
To add in autumn to this sunny spot.
With Aengus the Golden munching his plunder,
I need more and more bulbs there under.
Garden stones and sculptures are now displayed,
Soon birdbaths too - rushing the season I'm afraid.
My bluebird tapestry greets those by my door,
I'm sure I'll think of something more.
Since winter was so long,
And I'm inspired by happy bird song.
The magic of life reborn each spring
Never fails to astound and make me sing.
May your holiday allow you to laze
In a day dreamy spring fever daze.
But I'll assemble an Easter basket for my guest.
Despite other yummy food that's where his eyes will rest!
