Easter

When God made man so long ago
                                 In yonder garden fair
Gave just one rule for man to keep
Twas more than man could bear

Man ate the fruit forbidden there
And death the price to pay
The curse of sin upon the race
                        There was no other way

But Jesus came to earth one day
                              And died upon the tree
Took on himself the Sin of man
                              To set the captive free

They buried him in borrowed tomb
They wrapped him in grave clothes
But praise His name the Holy son
                        From that old tomb arose

Death could not hold the son of God
                              He tore its bonds away
The first fruit of the grave of sin
                              Was Jesus there that day

                        The mighty son ascended back
                        To Heaven whence he came
                        The promise is to resurect
                        Believers in His name

Yes he arose and and we shall rise
From graves wherever they may be
Or if alive when Jesus comes
                               From death forever free

Hi, Justin... a blessing to read. I haven't been a stranger, just checking in on the new poets from my phone. You've been on my mind. But, I don't like commenting my favorite poets from my phone. Ha, but you twisted my arm this morning, when id seen your comment. Thanks for guiding me this way. Easter, and the promise Jesus will rise again is well versed in your write. A mighty poem, thank you for the awesome reminder. Linda
