East

I watched the sun dance across the sky and his beautiful face.
I watched the sky turn into cotton candy colors and taste like sherbet.
I watched the clouds melt as the sun-kissed them goodnight.

I watched until the hues turned gray then disappear.
Finally, I became at peace, just to be under the same beautiful sky as him.
But I end up sleeping in the same pain as the sun who can never be next to her true love, the moon.
