As doubts fester within my heart,
my path is suddenly unclear.
Confronting your lies and deceit,
I'm left on the verge of a tear.
An alternate reality
clouded what I refused to see.
For I was infatuated
by the concept that you loved me.
Separate and yet connected;
I was easily led astray.
And we shared intimate moments;
till betrayal drove them away.
A clash of rival emotions
now fuels desire and fury.
And in judgment of my feelings,
truth presides as judge and jury.
Delusion morphed into despair,
triggering thoughts of suicide.
But I refuse to take that road;
and quickly push those thoughts aside.
Despite your manipulation,
I'll miss your charisma and charm.
And yet, I choose to walk away;
before you do even more harm.
