Ease My Pain

I smile, but my heart cries…
No one really knows what I feel inside.
Wish I could turn back the hands of time
Then I’d choose someone who’d still be by my side.

The hurt is still so fresh year after year;
And at times it seems so hard to bear
I often think a replacement will do,
But that scar remains with every thought of you.

I really need to get past the past…
And rid myself of the hurt at last.
But how can I accomplish this?
Jesus please grant me this one wish.

Let me abide in only in thee,
And be consumed by your precious love for me.
Help me to be able to love again.
Please ease my mind of this overwhelming pain.
