Notes About The Poem

EARTHY GRAMMAR

the earth speaks
in a syntax of wind,
in the slow-moving vowels
of shadow across stone;

its grammar lives
in the way grasses lean,
in how light punctuates
the ridge at dawn,

each pause a lesson,
each shift a clause
in the long, unwritten text
of being alive;

and when we listen,
truly listen~
we feel meaning gather
like seeds in the palm,

a quiet fluency
in the language
we were born knowing
but forgot how to read.

Beautifully written, Sara, with striking phrasing and metaphorical usage. 👏 It's a pity that many study / speak various languages, and yet do not pay attention to what Earth has to offer. ~ Best regards // paul

This one is creative in a special way. I enjoyed reading it this morning. I went out early this morning, and the full moon was in the western sky glowing brightly. I had to thank God for letting me see the moon once more. Sara K.

Very reflective Sara, you reach out into the consciousnsss of existence i percieve not just in this write ' i don't wonder.' Hmm? I guess you are often Dissapointed by shallowness in others.? I'll put it as that.' Yet i gather its a reality.' Take time to refresh yourself, in such times.' All blessings, Joe.)
