Earth's Care

Though the arrogance of humanity
Insists some part of it we own,
Fragile Earth on which we stand
Is given to us as a loan.
As we impose our footprints here,
May lovely blossoms show our path.
No poisons or impurities,
Just sweet rainwater for her bath.
In robust numbers we shall march
Against pollution of our land,
Treading lightly as we advance,
Trustees of globe on which we stand.

We certainly need to be MUCH better care takers of the earth God gifted us. Good one, Joyce. (I have sent you a soupmail too)

I love reading poems that have depth and define that we are the gardeners of this earth and it is our honored duty to preserve her wealth of flora and fauna. This is beautiful Joyce and I am putting it into my faves. Congratulations on your win. I hope this finds you well. Blessings xxoo

Congratulations Joyce. We truly are trustees of this blue marble hanging in the dark sky and it is imperative that each of us do our part to protect the fragile balance. Your phrasing is so creative and lyrical. I enjoyed this write. All the best.

Joyce, you are blessed with a governor who understands the impact man's recklessness has upon our planet. I wish this was a priority nationwide. There were many extraordinary poems in this contest. Congratulations on a well-deserved win! And thank you for supporting the contest. Hugs, Carolyn
