Earth Day 2021

EARTH DAY 2021

Buy it a hat it’s going bald.
Today I bought DIRT….
top soil (allegedly)
sealed in plastic,
sold by the bag.
It claims to be infused
with microorganisms
and other good stuff.

Grandma Kelley used to tell us
“you’ll eat a peck of dirt before you die”
“go outside and play, get some good clean dirt on yourself”
We even made mud pies….
                                        and tasted them.

CELEBRATE “EARTH” DAY
Take a walk….take a breath…
and thank “MOTHER EARTH”
for not taking us all out to the woodshed.

Hi John, Never ate mud pies. Darn, but time is not up. Will have some for lunch.)) What condiments go best with it. LOL. I like how you weaved Grandma into the Poem. I am going to hug my orange tree for Earth Day. Pangie

Good work, John. I appreciated your poem and well recalled the day when we made mud pies (and didn't die for the taste!) Nowadays, I'd hesitate.
