Earth Children
your arm is around my waist &you’re pulling me close. i smell your hair and your shirt. breathe in that smell of smoke and earth and shampoo. mixed in with your scent, i catch traces of my perfume, mingled in your skin from our tight embrace. above us, the stars smile down. below us, the grass gazes up. we are part of nature. the forest leans into us, the flowers beam at us, the moon shines at us. we are in the center of our own world. the planets orbit our bodies, gravitate towards us. the rain falls for us, the sun glows for us. it’s all for us. every constellation was formed for you and i, baby. the world is ours for the taking.
