Angels Poetry Contest, Sponsor- Mystic Rose Rose, Date written: 03/14/2025

Earth Angels

                           visible
                         tangible 
                     non-celestial 
                    no halo hovers 
                 above their heads
                  their eyes radiate 
            kindness, love, and care
               their reassuring voice 
        could calm worries and fears 
                     their shoulders 
         troubled souls could lead on   
               their welcoming arms 
    a home; comforting to one and all 
          they could be anyone 
     brothers 
          sisters 
               friends
                     strangers
                          grandparents 
                      gifted 
                 with a smile 
               bright enough 
                 to illuminate 
            a dark, gloomy day 
              and make spirits 
         dance and somersault 
 giving of their time, their hearts;
        a world of good they do 
      expecting nothing in return 
               who says angels 
          only come with wings? 
                 yes, they walk 
                 among us, too 
               as human as you 
                and yours truly.
