The Whiskey Taster’s Flavor Guide

Earth

This ocean is like a chai latte.
Foamy but no one believes me when I say it’s delicious.
We live on earth.
Filled with places to play and possibly stay.
But then the earth dips a bit and we sway to another dimension.
We like grass to be tall.
Or short sometimes.
Just underfoot, a stone gets caught on the sole of your shoe.
Everything is torn away.
Lightning rods are a trick we try.
In the storm, we always think we should try some manipulation.
The paths through the woods are odd.
Since we can remember them sometimes, but other times not.
And we emerge to some town somehow.
Even if it’s not our own, we’re relieved.
My chai latte is like an ocean.
Except it’s not salty, just good.
Good and sentimental.
As I slurp the last drops.
Just like I did to the ocean.
