Ears Are For Hearing - Words Are For Cheering

There was a time I did reflect
When I was told to wind in my neck

That message was from my peers
Who said I had such big ears

Well I said I do listen
But now I wonder if I didn’t

Time and again but I can’t tell
If I was just headed for hell

I used to just listen to myself
Never helping anyone else

What a waste my life has been
If I couldn’t hear anyone apart from me

And if I couldn’t hear anything of good cheer
What’s the use of my ears

I may as well go to hell to tell the story’s I can tell
But who will then even hear

If they are all deaf like me

I thank God every day for giving me ears to hear. Life is pretty empty when we dont' have friends to share the joy and the pain. I enjoyed your poem and also your challenge. Nice meeting you Damian
