Early Spring

The first crocus appeared, showing much pluck in spite of the cold, trying her luck. But then the wind hit her and the wind was so bitter that the crocus thought "This just sucks!"

Hello Jim Healy, Winter an d spring always struggles. winter it seems wants to stay longer. they always have a battle. So the3 flowers that pop up early do not have a chance to grow. Yes the weather is unpredictable in NFLD. I agree it is a beautiful place. This will be my fav. enjoy your day my friend. /Darlene/

spring can be so temperamental; our lilies experienced the same thing when the winds suddenly shifted back to the north...the ending was true to the Limerick style. Have a pleasant evening. Sara

Thank you, Sara. I should tell you, though, that I live in Newfoundland, a large island off Canada's east coast. It may officially be Spring, but here we still have snow on the ground. The weather here can be so unpredictable that it is not uncommon to have snow in late May! Nevertheless, we live in a beautiful place. Thanks again. Cheers! J.
