Early Snow

Snow fell early this winter
Before the earth was ready.
Uprooted oak trees fell, and
Birch trees are dying.

I'm in CT. That storm hit on Halloween - 12 inches, and we never got anymore snow the rest of the winter. The trees just literally fell over, roots and all. We actually have a drought now, and threats of wildfires. That's not supposed to happen in New England! My son and his wife are in Austin. I'm originally from San Antonio & Fredericksburg. Very familiar with TX.

I saw you commented on a couple of my poems... thank you! I'm just starting to write in the Japanese formats, and it's really nice to get some positive reinforcement. Thanks!
