Eager For the Meager

Any guy who is dead eager To work for wages quite meager Is contented with plans to save: A belief he won’t at last rave; Sure of Rice and Beans for breakfast: Sure means of paying for them fast. But then Food, Shelter and Clothing Plus nothing else still breed Loathing: What If Hospital Bill high charge Or Dad’s Family pretty large? What If Good Boss starts playing games And cares not one being John or James? A crying neglect of books men read, On which Minds of The Normal feed! Why would one skip knowledge men seek; What Humans should add up each week? Any guy who’s rather earnest To work for bosses less honest Might find himself moving hither And the next hurt hour thither.
