Dylan's 80th Birthday

In case you weren’t feeling old
(A topic kind of weighty)
You might, as soon as you’ve been told
Today, Bob Dylan’s 80!

Our youthful idols cannot age
Unless we do in tandem
And lately, if they take the stage,
They face a senior fandom.

I’m glad that Bob’s still kicking,
Earning accolades and cred
Unlike those whose songs are sticking
Though they’re 50-plus years dead.

Decades fly. Even someone 100 years old was just a kid.

Clever little ditty. Music stars are not known for their longevity. He has really hung around. Stay well my friend.

Never heard of him, but anyone who can still carry a tune at age 80 sans technology is certainly worth a mention! Aloha! Rico

Wow, he certainly has had a long career, Ilene. I look at some of the "idols" from my youth and wonder why they aged and I didn't. LOL Even Paul McCartney is showing his age. Ironically, my main idol was Peter Noone (Herman's Hermits) and he still looks young. We all age at different rates. A fun, whimsical look at aging. Best wishes, Carolyn
