Dying Light

In this dying light, the night has never looked so beautiful
The shadows that can hide the hurt become larger than life itself
I could live here at peace, knowing that the darkness will protect and keep me;
But it is a place I must not stay too long for the sun will always rise again.
Another beautiful day to miss because I do not feel I belong there.
Shadows are hard to find and no longer am I shrouded in the protection I know.
I must be a person of the light now.
Putting on a mask until I am safe again; in darkness and peace.
