Dusty Road

As I walk this dusty road,
the same one you and I once crossed.
Looking back in time
in this dream I'm lost.
Thoughts pondering my mind,
I fear I'm growing up to fast
as I slowly start to see
the past should stay the past.
Now I’m kicking up the dust
and starting to look back,
at a life I know is over,
cutting like a heart attack.
I wonder where she is
and if shes doing fine.
If shes on a brand new journey,
not so different to mine.
Maybe one day,
again our paths will meet.
And we'll each trade our stories
in the mid Autumn heat.
Until then ill close this box
of old letters that have saved,
and lay down the memories
of which this dusty road is paved.
