Dusty Road

Tired footsteps drag sliding barely lifted stirring the dust that clings to all light does burn stealing moisture drying cracking life fading away drawing near to town so ancient ruined buildings along the way entered into square abandoned empty buildings like skulls line once white marble like alabaster stands of fountain water stained once did life give to all the people who once were here now gone away not barest trickle here does linger nor does hope yet here remain
