splinters of diamonds
icy shards of shattered stars
dust on the night road

ghosts of footprints, powdered pearls
soft sighs of solace and light

I have been wrestling with the very same problem of describing the very same thing in one of my ongoing scribbles, looks like you beat me to it...Damn! Beautifully written, Gail! A seven for original and striking thought. My best regards. :) john
