dust lust

“LOVE IS NOTHING BUT LUST MISSPELLED”
DAN SIMMONS

searching, seeking my sweetheart
ripple effect of the tide
splashing gently on my feet
gazing at you down the bay

standing, your face to the sun
heart beating against my chest
relishing love’s newest form
smiling tenderly, weak knees

your silhouette stretches high
my hands reach out, thin air
enveloping the aura
leaving a trail of dust lust

alone, but together here
surrounded by lush beauty
your eyes read into my soul
slowly walking towards hope
