Dust and Dreams

Dust and Dreams

I felt so excited
to see you arrive
but now all you do
is sit and derive

Your beauty like a dream
in you I saw the divine
found my place in the scheme
of all things due to be mine

I feel so sad
to see you neglected
you great lump of wood
dusty and rejected

It is not your fault I say
the fault is all mine
how dare I bloody sit here
sit here and whine

You were to be my platform
where one day I’d find my voice
and now it all seems long gone
and it is I who made the choice.

So sad and beautifully penned. The emotion and words to self are very creatively expressed. I really like the ownership in your words, it's a refreshing change and surely not easy to feel or write. Great job! Terrific writing, I really enjoyed this:) Hope you are very well.

What marvelous blessing is choice, and such a curse. This prompted great reflection.
