Dusk Begins

Some daddy's out there mowing his lawn
The mama calls out kids it's bedtime
And here I sit but a moment away
Just beyond my fingertip reach
Seems everyone is feasting on
Their share of the pie
Yet I'm hungry-empty
My vacant stare flies out
Gets tangled up with the lightening bugs
Darkness approaches-I watch
The silhouetted trees
Mocking me as I fade away
And waving goodbye
Goodbye-goodbye
