Dusk
The days full busy wends inevitably to its close
Cool wind half light filters through the awakening chorus of crickets
While the last chirping of a solitary birds farewell goes un-noticed.
The trees now stand sentinel guardians on their stout trunks
Watching as the owl and mouse play at catch and hunt
And furtive shadow eyes take the night shift from the day shift lizard and serpent.
The quiet hangs a sigh of respite from bright suns heat
Body and blood languish in the days parchment of peace
It is the indigo moment of skies
Just a seconds breath before the birth of the stars
As clouds upon their sails cast but silhouettes in the deepening dark
Yellow flowers nod their heads in case their colours we forget
While the rivers rush softens continuous upon its rocks
It is a silence filled with the sounds of ..... hush
Sleep now; all you day bright creatures
Rest; let the nocturnes domain commence
Long prepared by the flurry of paint
That filled the fired brush of the suns set
The liberation of your dreams awaits
In full anticipation of another dawning day
It is an indigo moment of skies
Just a seconds breath away from the birth of stars
