Dumbstruck

Something's changed, like I knew it would
The feeling's subsided, like a piece of drift wood

Chasing shadows in the dark
Calling out your name in the stillness of the night

You stole my spark
You robbed me of my sanity

Kept captive to the mark
You branded upon my head

Something's wrong
The strength I once had is now gone

The knowledge I once possessed
Has been reduced to frivolous babble

Am I strong enough to vanquish these demons
Who linger in the dark?
Am I strong enough to relinquish this fear of failing?

Nothing ventured, nothing gained
Yet the question remains...
