Dry Spell

Tap tap tap
Pen on paper
Dot dot dot
Cmon, just one thought
Theres a gift there
Somewhere
Lurking
In still night air,
Waiting, waiting
Mind and pen
Play hide and seek
Clock ticks on
Still cant sleep
I know your there
Tap tap tap
I want to share
So some get blessed
The sun comes up
God is speaking,
Its time to rest.

Well penned Carl! It can get frustrating when words don't seem to want to come out and play - such is the burden of the poet. I love how you've brought in the image of the sun, somehow mankind's words seem greatly insignificant when faced with the beauty of creation. Nicely done!

You nailed it my friend! I'm certain every single poet here on P-Soup can identify with your words! Cheers, Jack
