Drowned On a Horse

I write here while riding
A crazy mangy horse
Pardon my sloppy handwriting
I have to keep on course
Jerry won't cooperate
He keeps running this way and that
He's going to make us late
Oh no! There goes my hat!
You stupid stupid stupid horse
Why won't you do what I command
I'm going to start using force
If I can get a grip with my hand
AH! Oh no! Don't turn around
Bucking isn't cool
I'll wind up on the ground
Didn't they teach you anything in horsie school?
I'll pull your mane, you know I will
No don't bite!
You need to just chill
(We must be quite a sight)
No not the stream
We can't get wet!
We are supposed to be a team
Maybe you need to see a vet!
Ok that's far enough you!
We can't go any farther, okay?
The water, will drown us, you know it's true!
I don't know what else to say!
Just work your way up
NO NOT!!!....Blup...blup....blup

Hi Jen, what a great ride you take us on in this poem! I love the way your horse does exactly like he feels like doing. That always seems to be the way with horses. For some reason, they seem to want to either decapitate me or crush me against the bough of a tree. I had to laugh at the ending! VERY well done. Carolyn
