Drought and Destruction

Drought dry walk for life Mother stumbles weak Babe clutched close at heart Unrevivable Life taken today Family walks Survival now No grief today Must find some food Infant weak Medical Care needed Dry wind Grim hope Death!! Pray for the drought stricken people in Africa and the middle east.

I just returned from some travels in East Africa, and it is very difficult to see communities of people which have become my friends really struggling with drought issues. Even in the areas where the drought is less severe, I could still see effects such as less bountiful crops on farms, which translates to less money which translates to less food, medical care, schooling, and the list goes on. Thanks so much for this poem, it meant a lot to me.

You've really laced a touching and well informative write Doris. More than often we take for granted the little things unfortunate others would lust to have. You've opened my eyes this morning with this nobel prize diminished hexaverse!
