Drive
Baby, let’s jump into your car.
We don’t have to go real far.
But if you would like to drive all day,
I’m up for that.
Let’s just get away!
Away from all that’s plaguing us -
the daily messes and the fuss.
Stay-cations do not do the trick.
Put your finger on the map.
I’ll go anywhere you pick.
We can drive eastward bound.
In two days be in my hometown.
Or we can head way up north
to Yellowstone. I’ve never been
where geysers from the earth spring forth!
If south we drive, let’s go southeast.
Though the heat there is increased,
to Louisiana I’d love to go.
I’ve never been to New Orleans.
I hear at Mardi Gras they come alive!
Forget Orleans. It’s nearly summer.
No Mardi Gras now. What a bummer.
All I really want to do is be with you.
Let’s just drive to anywhere
and stop when we see things to do!
Baby, drive me where you want to go.
We could head to Vegas for a show,
joke and sing and snack along the way.
Find a beach or visit Disneyland.
Let’s head out to a really sunny day.
Baby, listen, I’ll go anywhere.
On your shoulder as we’re driving there
Is where I want just to rest my head!
We can sit in utter silence too; I love you so.
I’ll trust in any place to which by you I’m led!
