Drinking
He spent his nights drinking
Instead of
Helping his children with their homework
Attending their sporting events
Driving them to school
And to their friend's houses
He spent his nights drinking
Staying out all night at a poker game
Where he gambled away all of the money in his pockets
He took money from his daughter's piggy bank
Leaving an I owe you note that he wouldn't pay back
Leaving all of the responsibility to
The mother of his children
Because
He spent his nights drinking
