Drifting Darkly

Falling through pompous poems, spiraling Slippery sinking, rhyming rolling In down directions, foreign for me Cascading in chalkboard screechy sounds Hanging by nails that can catch and clasp Clinging to hollow hopes once grasped Sliding sorrows, long lost dreams dashed Descending dusty thoughts that propel Nothing now left of me, you can tell

Dear Greg, your talent for rich, striking imagery and dazzling alliteration is on full display in this dark beauty of emotion and deep thought drifting darkly down to saturate the poetic page. Have I had a "dark" influence on you?! I kid you, of course... your talent for complex emotional expression is impressive, creative, intriguing and completely charms my captivated imagination. You once said that I was one to watch very carefully, yet indeed, you are the one to watch and read very carefully. A fav! Warmest wishes to you, my wonderful friend.. ~Susan

Dear friend, for me as well, the experiments and the experience continues. It's wonderful to be able to spend some time here today with the enthralling poems of some of my favorite poets, like you, Greg. Lately, life's adventures, obligations, trials and tribulations have left me little time for both my muse and for the Soup. Otherwise, all is well in my corner of the world. I hope to be back again on a more regular basis soon.

Such a special visit from you Susan. I had wondered if something had happened. So glad to see you spry again and active. Yes, you have had an influence on me, a positive one. When accomplished poets notice anything, it helps lift the weight of mediocrity. For me, the experiments continue. I thank you for your friendship.

Heya Greg, yes it can all seem pointless, I’m still grasping at agnostic straws myself, that dark energy they found everywhere in the universe paradoxically gives me hope, for the simple reason nobody has a clue what it is, you put so much truth in your poems, it’s impossible to argue with, yet they make fantastic reads for me anyway, cheers David

David, again thank you for trying to reason through my scribbles. In Buddhist tradition, it's not reason alone but rather a combination of heart and mind that serves us well, those seeking. But here again, the contradictions make most stumble. Grasping negates awakening.
