Dreams of Hope
DREAMS OF HOPE
In life we cry and laugh,
Our hearts are plagued with so much pain and sorrow.
In our state of hopeless hopelessness,
We worry ourselves to frenzy thinking that we’ve lost it all.
No battle is ever lost, not until we concede defeat
Battles are won through courage, determination
And a great measure of valour.
In the heart, there lies a fire, a fire of life, and it burns ceaselessly.
Let’s keep its flames alive and never let it die.
II
In our sleep, in our solitude
We conjure images of good and better days,
Yet when they cease coming our way, heartbroken
We break down and cry
And are plagued with sorrow
Nothing is over, until it is over.
Hope lies even in the darkest of places
And hope will sure take us to the place of our dreams.
III
In our sullen moments,
In our flickering moments of sanity and insanity,
Let’s dream dreams of hope, for hope will keep us alive all through life.
As we ascend the windy staircase of life’s travails;
It’s so many trails and temptations, let’s always learn to keep
A smile on our faces,
For everything in life is but a passing phase.
